  Chapter One

  The night of the event all was quite in Dearborn Michigan. The majority of families were at home and asleep, there had been several services in the mosque that day and everyone was always there as required by their faith.

  The Imam was a great leader, Aaban Abad, he was thirty-five years old, educated at Cornell University and graduated with a degree in Political Science. He was very involved in Muslim activities while in College, possibly too much the school had labeled him a troublemaker and someone to watch. He was a very proud man but believed strongly that the west had been targeting Islam unfairly and was very uneven when it came to how they treated Jews versus Muslims. Then there were the Christians themselves that believed everything was within their right and their faith was the only one.

  Once he was out of College he returned to Dearborn where there was a huge Muslim population and they had the numbers to influence local political events. The only problem they had was the US Constitution wouldn’t let them practice the way they wanted to. They had been in court many times over the years as they tried to implement Sharia Law in various ways over their population; they lost most of the court battles. Which of course they were furious they couldn’t do what they wanted too, where was all of this freedom they were told about in the United States. The court saw through it and realized that they were trying to take away peoples freedoms and limit what they could and couldn’t do, of course this isn’t what they saw.

  Although none of them knew what really happened the night of the event they all looked at it as a blessing from heaven. They would now have the opportunity to build their own world the way they saw fit without the interference from the infidels. There was no more law and order everyone was thrust back a hundred years, this is where they wanted to be. They wanted their own country, their own Caliphate, they wanted Sharia Law and they had a new world now to build on. They were forty thousand strong, of course they were three to four times more Christians in area but they weren’t going to let anything like that stop them.

  The morning of the event many of the followers that lived near the mosque, which was quite a few, were lost and went to the mosque looking for answers. The Imam couldn’t tell them what was going on any more than anyone else. All they knew for sure was that there cars didn’t run, there was no electricity and no water. As the day went on more and more followers found their way to the mosque, they had walked miles in some cases to get there only to be disappointed that no one there knew what was going on either.

  As night fell there was a crowd of a few hundred followers in and around the mosque who were hungry and thirsty. By now it had become apparent that the electricity and water wasn’t going to come on tonight. The mosque did have bottled water and a food pantry that they used to give to the poor, now it would be used to give to the followers until things returned to normal.

  It then pushed into the next day with no changes followed by the next and the next and so on, they were slow on the pick up like most Americans who thought the Government was coming to the rescue. By weeks end there were hundreds of people at the mosque some belonged to other mosques but ended up finding their way here; it was ok they were all brothers and sisters.

  The Imam and his council realized that this was a tragedy for his followers in the making. He selected a handful of trusted men and sent them out into the community after a week to see what was going on. He gave them money and a list of items they needed and if they could find them to purchase as much as they could. The men returned several hours later with only half the provisions that were on the list and with no more money. They told the council that the stores had doubled or tripled their prices for items, shelves were starting to empty and it even looked like some stores might have been looted. If they wanted more they would have to be able to travel further away than they could on foot.

  Many of the followers did arrive in older cars, much older cars to the astonishment of many that believed that all vehicles were dead. The Imam and council members approached the owners of the vehicles and asked if they could use them to search out supplies for the mosque. Many of them were very concerned about lending their cars out but didn’t want to offend the Imam so they did. However, when the Imam and council were asked how they planned to refuel the vehicles it occurred to them that since there was no power there weren’t any pumps to pump fuel.

  They decided they would siphon fuel from vehicles that were abandoned along the road, in the future this would be the point where it was decided that they as a religious institution decided to take matters into their own hands and realized that law enforcement wasn’t going to stop them.

  They took five of the vehicles with four men in them apiece, the vehicles were old trucks, in each was at least two men in the front and two men in the back, each vehicle was also equipped with a syphon hose and they carried no weapons. They topped off each vehicle from syphoning other vehicles in the area. They moved out early in the morning to make the most of their scavenging hunt and hopefully to bring enough back to support them.

  As the day wore on there had been no word from the men that left the mosque earlier on the hunt for supplies. Not that they had anyway to contact them, but none had returned. As night closed in none of the four crews that
had left that morning had returned. The Imam and others were starting to get very concerned wondering what could have happened.

  It was a long night, at midnight only one of the trucks had returned they had no supplies but two of the men were dead, shot in the head, to two others were beaten. They told their story to the Imam; they told him there were huge numbers of people roaming the streets looking for food and water. Many of them were armed with knives, guns; baseball bats almost anything that could be used as a weapon. They had encountered two gangs who were claiming entire blocks for themselves and wouldn’t let anyone in or out, if you had anything of value they took it.

  Almost every store had been looted, at least the area they were in and it was slow moving in the truck. They certainly stuck out as most people were on foot and there were those who wanted to take the truck and that was how the men were killed, defending the truck so no one could take it. Then someone in the crowd called them rag heads and Islamic extremists that’s when they drug the other ones out of the truck and beat them, they barely escaped with their lives.

  The Imam thanked the men for their heroism and told them how brave they were, he also assured them that there two friends would be buried in the morning following their traditions. As morning rolled in the three other trucks had not returned the Imam was afraid they had been lost after hearing the terror story last night. People around the mosque talked in whispers about the two dead men there were all sorts of rumors spreading now about how they died. The funeral was that morning they were buried on the mosque grounds.

  Late that morning the Imam had a meeting with his senior council to discuss the incident with the truck that returned and the three others that had not. They also needed to discuss a new plan of action; they only had another day or so of food left and maybe two more days of water. The reality of the situation was taking hold they were getting desperate, as many people in general had. If they didn’t start to take some positive action within the next week people were going to start to die, the first would be the elderly and the very young.

  They brained stormed and everything they came up with was fairly passive which to be honest they had already tried. The Imam sat back and closed his eyes and thought for a moment, “This is what I want. I want two groups of men, ten each per group. They must be young strong men between 19 and 40. They will arm themselves with what they can find around here and must be willing to use those weapons on another human being. It won’t help us if they can’t do what’s needed to be done. Next I want them to go in opposite directions from here and go from house to house and search them and take what we need. If they run into any resistance they are allowed to eliminate that resistance. I want them to look for food, water, guns and ammunition. I want clothes and camping items as much as they can carry back.”

  The council was not opposed they didn’t want to be the ones that brought it up as they didn’t know how the Imam would feel about it. One of the council members said, “There will be water in the hot water heaters of each house we should drain each one and bring the water back here.”

  Again they all agreed the Imam added that to the list as well as any containers they would need to gather it all. Another man on the council said, “We should note the homes with pools and take that water as well somehow. We can boil it to drink or use it for washing clothes.”

  The Imam looked at each member, “We are going to need to protect what we have once we get it, there will be others from the outside, infidels that will try to take it. We need to be able to fight to keep it I want all men between the ages of 17 and 50 that are in good health to learn how to use firearms once we get some. We are going to need Soldiers to keep what we gain.”

  The senior council members nodded their heads in agreement, “I’m appointing Steven Tuma as the response team coordinator. He will recruit, train, and organize the men who will make up the force, the Soldiers.” The Imam was looking as each man in the room as he said it; he was looking for some sort of disapproval. The Imam knew that Steven Tuma was very much what the infidels called a radical Muslim and he did go against the grain of many main stream Muslims who liked to distance themselves from him.

  Chapter Two

  Steven Tuma was a Harvard educated man, US Citizen, thirty-two years old and had fought in Iraq and Afghanistan and not on the side of the United States; he had fought against and killed US Service men and women. He had also recruited young men and women as well as children as suicide bombers to kill infidels not just Americans. He made a name for himself in Al-Qaeda as a ruthless advocate of Islam and would to whatever it took to establish a Caliphate where everyone was ruled by Sharia Law.

  His Al-Qaeda overseers recognized how valuable an asset he was, especially since he was a US Citizen, but the US Government also knew who he was and placed him on an FBI and CIA watch lists as well as no-fly. They planned to funnel him through Mexico, with Coyote’s that could be paid handsomely to escort Steven and several other members across the border. Once there they would be met by brothers from friendly mosques in US cities where they could stay and be safe while preparing actions against the Americans.

  Steven forgot how passive American Muslims were the years fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria had changed him. His life was jihad and he could no longer understand what these Muslims saw in America and why they never rose up to defeat the great Satan. The members of the mosque felt threatened by Steven and many times had complained to the Imam about him trying to incite the young imperishable young men. The Imam waved them off and told them not to worry he was harmless, the Imam knew he wasn’t and in fact supported his efforts to recruit the young me to jihad; he always felt they would have their day.

  Steven built several cells; purchased weapons legally and on the black market and then he took them out to various locations in the wilderness and taught the cells marksmanship and tactics. Individually they were sent back to the Middle East to Pakistan or another somewhat neutral location where they would be met by brothers sympathetic to their cause and taken to one of the many war zones to get experience. However, when three of the brothers were killed in combat the families wanted to know what had happened to them and even with the influence of the Imam those families would not be quiet if they found out they were fighting in Syria with ISIS. They stopped for several months sending cell members overseas to fight, they weren’t willing to have it all blow up in their face the US Government didn’t take kindly to Muslims, especially American ones fighting against them.

  It had worked out well over the years although they hadn’t been able to execute any plans to really attack the US any place. The US technology and law enforcement prohibited a lot of that, they wanted something that would succeed and not get caught before executing it. Some of the cells had been caught by the FBI but they couldn’t trace any of it back to the mosque at least that they knew of.

  The event, whatever it was, seemed like a blessing from Allah, everyone was on equal footing now. Now he could enact his plan to establish a Caliphate in the United States or what used to be the United States. It had been two weeks with no Government intervention any place that they could see and now the Imam had given him sole responsibility for the security and appropriation of materials to support our brothers and sisters. He was also given the go ahead, reluctantly, to use whatever methods he deemed appropriate to accomplish his mission. This came about because three of the four scavenging teams that were sent out never returned, assumed dead, and the fourth team returned with two dead and two men almost beaten to death.

  He would make sure the infidels paid the price in the long run; they had been planning for years for something like this. All of the men from the cells were here at the mosque they had even brought all of their weapons with them in their cars if they had them or carried them in. It was time to bring them in from the cold and let everyone see the Army of Allah.

  Chapter Three

  The Soldiers of the Army of Allah had gathered in the main room of the mosque with Steven
Tuma and the Imam Aaban Abad. Steven and the Imam explained their current mission to them; essentially act as security for the vehicles that were going out in the neighborhoods looking for supplies. Their orders were to take everything they could, if they ran into any resistance they were to try to reason with the people first and if they couldn’t then do what was necessary to resolve the situation, they never said kill anyone.

  They were allowed to go out armed into the community and use them as necessary; the entire point to the exercise was now a matter of survival. If they ran into other Muslims they were to invite them to the mosque, they were told to leave those families alone but to note where they were located in the event they might need help. They were given a list of the items needed and the neighborhoods they were to start with. These were the streets that essentially surrounded the mosque, start with the closest and work their way out. Once they had trucks full they were to return and unload them then go back out, they would start with a five mile radius.

  The men left with their assignments and went to the scavenger team they were assigned to. Once with the team they laid down the law, they must obey or risk alienation themselves; this meant that if they failed to obey them they and their families would be forced out of the mosque to fend for themselves, essentially exiled.
