  “She’s here isn’t she? On the same floor. I can sense she’s close,” Jessiah said.

  “Yes, she’s filling out some ‘misplaced’ paperwork from her last mission,” The General opened the top draw and straightened some paperwork then turned around and shredded it.

  “Are you going to give our files to her?” Shane asked.

  “You aren’t that interesting,” The General replied.

  Chapter 10

  Interesting indeed. Jessiah’s brows furrowed. “Telepathic, telekinetic, ability to control each and every aspect of her body including bodily functions.”

  “Able to coalesce seamlessly into any environment, ability to mimic and absorb another’s powers, and last but certainly not least,” Shane said. “Kinetic absorption. I’m hard just thinking about all her abilities. Damn she’s hot.”

  Jessiah chuckled and shook his head. He was thinking the same thing. Everything about her was amazing. Such a strong, fierce presence. He had no clue how anyone could treat her the way they had. She’s been through hell and back, and then took another trip to the nether world. Now it was time for him and Shane to take her to heaven with a one way ticket. No returns. Final destination.

  Question was how. How would they be able to get behind that wall, make her believe in them, trust them enough to open up her beautiful soul for the last time. Jessiah’s phone rang and Shane looked at him. “Whose ring tone is that?”

  “It’s Micah, I haven’t selected one fit for her yet,” he said. “Hey almost done shopping?”

  “I’m done with what I was doing,” she replied. He smiled. He liked that she didn’t lie about shopping. “What about you, resolved the issues?”

  “Yes we’re just about done here. We just needed some clarification on a few things,” he didn’t want to lie either.

  “Gotta love the bosses. Must be nice being the happy idiots behind the desks,” Shane and Jessiah laughed thinking of The General sitting happily behind his desk. Nope, they were unable to picture it. “Anyway, where would you like to meet and when?”

  “We’re heading down now. Meet us by the main elevators on the first floor and we’ll see you there in a few minutes,” Jessiah said.

  “See you soon.” She hung up.

  Lunch was torture for Micah’s two Mates. She didn’t know but every time she brought her fork to her mouth, her tongue would snake out to catch the sauce before it dropped and prior to taking it into her mouth. Both Jessiah and Shane were doing the male thing and picturing her taking them into her mouth. Imagining her tongue snaking out and tasting the underside of their hardened members. A few moans slipped out of their mouths a couple times. When they did, she’d pause and look at them with question in her eyes, and her mouth parted causing them to inwardly groan.

  Micah was glad that though the blond waitress was doing her best to snag their attention, their gazes remained fixed on her the entire time. It was as if she was the only female in the world. As if she were everything they wanted, everything they needed to continue breathing.

  She wouldn’t know that that was exactly how they felt. The Mating pull may give them lust and desire, but The General deepened their feelings toward her. They would forever be indebted to him.

  As they got into Jessiah’s Suburban Shane asked, “Where to next?”

  Jessiah looked at Shane with a mischievous grin on his face. “I could use a run.”

  Micah groaned. Time to bite the bullet. She was not looking forward to this. But she knew it was bound to happen sooner rather than later apparently. She had her hands in her lap and was playing nervously with her fingers. She was so lost in her own mind; would they find her attractive? Would she disappoint? Oh god, I can’t do this. Sure she’d slept in a tank and boy shirts last night, but her two biggest--literally--body parts had been covered in black, the slimming color.

  The sound of her door opening made her flinch. Shane’s bad boy grin slipped from his face. He leaned in and scooped her into his arms. He became concerned when he felt her lightly shaking in his arms.

  “It’s ok, my beauty,” his voice was soothing. “What do you fear?”

  She shook her head, she didn’t want to voice it. It would make her sound shallow and give them insight into her insecurities.

  “Surely you would not hide a goddess’ body from her worshipers?” Jessiah asked.

  “Hmph,” she said thinking back to the night at the club. She wiggled her way out of Shane’s arms and began walking into the park. She disappeared between the thick forest trees.

  Shane’s arms stopped her mid-stride, a leg going up in the air to try and balance herself. He dipped his head and nestled in her ear. “I know what you’re picturing. And I know about Callum. I’m not him,” she cut him off.

  “No you’re not, but you share his tastes in females,” she cringed at the bitterness in her voice and forced his arms apart to move away from him.

  “I didn’t think they made them like you anymore. So I found blonds to be attractive, that doesn’t mean I’m not attracted to you.” Micah said nothing as she kept walking. “Fuck. I’m only attracted to you now,” she kept walking. “I broke it off with Sheila the instant I saw you at the club.” Her steps slowed. “Do you know what Jessiah was doing when I called him to tell him I found you?”

  Micah’s footsteps came to a stop. “No, I don’t.”

  “I was on a date with a female I had been seeing for eight months.”

  Eight months, enough time for feelings to develop... Deep feelings.

  “I never kept anything hidden from her. She knew from the beginning it would never get into the Mating level, I always told her that we were looking for you. When I received the call, I told her, dropped money on the table and left.”

  “Callum was a fool,” Shane said. “Will you hold his crimes against me?” There was desperation in his voice.

  She exhaled visibly. No she wouldn’t. She was being unfair to Shane and Jessiah. What’s worse is that she knew it. Staring at a similar face and remembering Cal with a blond in their bed was too much. But she’d admit it, she was wrong.

  “No,” she replied softly. “I’m sorry.” It didn’t help her feel any less nervous though. She turned to face him, her eyes held on his chest.

  He tilted her chin up with the tip of his forefinger, forcing her to meet his eyes. His gaze was intense, determined. “I promise you, I will cherish you.”

  She believed that he believed that, but who set out with anything other than good intentions? Still she nodded her head slightly.

  “You don’t believe me,” he stated.

  “I believe you believe that.”

  “And what will it take for you to have faith in me?”

  “Time.” If it’s even possible.

  He dipped his head and pressed his lips to hers. It was a quick, chaste kiss; nothing more than lips against lips. Still tingles flowed over her body and her pulse quickened. When he pulled away her soul was saddened. “Before the Parley is over, I guarantee you will have faith in me. In us.” He moved past her with a quick slap on her ass.

  Jessiah came up behind her and lifted her into his arms. “I can walk you know,” she complained.

  “Hush now. I just want to hold you,” he replied.

  All too easily she relaxed in his arms and her beasts preened.

  They walked for a few minutes until they came to the lock box area where they would place their clothes and valuables. Jessiah placed her on her feet then knelt before her. He lifted a leg off the ground and slipped off her flats. Skimming his fingertips up the back of her calves, he passed her knees, went to her lower thigh and grasped the hem of her dress. His eyes on hers the entire time. He began lifting up her dress and rose as he did. When he got to her firm cheeks he gave her a squeeze and she released a gasp. Then the dress was above her panties and Shane released a low growl from behind her. The dress was now below her bra and Jessiah’s purr joined Shane’s growl. And now it was up and over her head, hanging from
Jessiah’s right hand, leaving her in a black laced bra and panty set.

  “Stunning,” Jessiah whispered.

  Fingertips tickled her shoulder then swept her long hair over the opposite shoulder. Shane’s growl deepened at the sight of her tattoos. “So hot,” he murmured. A set of hands caressed her upper back and then went to the clasp of her bra. A quick flick of Shane’s professional wrist and her bra loosened, was sliding down her shoulders and off her arms, and her large firm breasts were exposed. Then he curled his fingers in her thong and pulled them down until they fell to the ground of their own accord.

  Micah tensed, her eyes closed; her teeth worrying her bottom lip. She could feel Shane’s gaze roaming over her skin leaving a trail of molten lava in its wake. Jessiah was doing the same in front of her. Shane stepped to Jess’ side and then Jessiah went to her back. A hand caressed her hip from behind, and one from the front. They were careful not to touch any other areas without invitation. Nudity should be natural for shifters, hell it was for most. It’s not like the books where you can imagine your outfits into existence, so they spent a lot of time naked around each other.

  Shane used to appreciate that. Now after seeing Micah, he decided he might purchase her a few muumuus to keep her covered all the time.

  “Open your eyes, Micah,” Shane growled. She didn’t respond. “Look at me.”

  It was an Alpha command and while she could brush it off, her wolf wanted his dominance and forced her eyes open. She met his searing gaze and saw so much passionate desire that it took her breath away.

  He leaned in close to her and said, “We see you, Micah. Do you understand me? We see you. And we accept you.”

  Her heart stopped for a moment in time as those tiny three words penetrated her mind and heart. She knew what they meant by them. It was all she had ever wanted. Someone, anyone to look at her, past her weird hair, her dual beasts, her curvy body, into her soul and see all that she had to offer. To accept it, to take it gladly, and thankfully.

  Tears welled in her eyes, and she willed them dry. She would savor this moment, and replay it in her mind later when she was alone, where she could allow herself to be emotionally vulnerable. But she knew that Shane didn’t miss the swell of her tears, and for some reason she was ok with that.

  “You’re beautiful,” Jessiah whispered into her hair. And she felt it, felt the truth about it. It wasn’t the shell, her outer layer they were referring to. It was her, her character, her personality; her soul. Every experience she lived, all the heartache and pain, the triumphs, the uncertainties; everything that brought her to this moment and time. They saw it all, they saw her soul.

  And they saw it was good.

  After positioning herself so that she could shamelessly ogle Shane and Jessiah at the same time, Micah thought she was going to forego the run and jump right onto both of them. Frick on a stick. Hot didn’t do them justice. But no one says ‘God damn, he is scolding.’ Though she thought when it came to these two someone should. No wait, no one should but her.

  Shoot. I’m becoming possessive. Dare I think I can actually own two men at the same time?

  Her second look at Shane’s beautifully gorgeous erection made her cream herself, then getting her first glance at Jessiah’s she nearly came on the spot. Neither had anything to be ashamed about and if she thought Shane’s erection was a bit intimidating, then Jessiah’s was outright scary. But beautiful all the same.

At one point a few male shifters came out of the tree line and the instant they saw Micah their blood rushed to their nether region causing Shane to nearly lose it. Before she knew it she was behind a wall of pure muscle, with both of them blocking her from view. She imagined scratching her nails down their backs until she got to their... oh yes. Muscular asses all around. She couldn’t help but reach out and grabbed them.

  Then nearly all bets were off. It took another group of males to come out for them to want to get her shifted and on the move already. She had them pick a number from one to ten and when Jessiah called five, she shifted into her tiger for him. She could see and sense their awe. Saw the beauty they found in her majestic beast. And why not, her tiger was only one of a handful of white tiger females in the world, and she was a creature to behold.

  When they shifted they sniffed, licked, and rubbed each other, enveloping themselves in their scents before plunging into the forest in a playful manner. After a couple hours of play, pouncing, nipping, nudging, and chasing, she switched to her wolf form. And it started all over again.

  Once they returned to gather their clothes, Micah shifted into her human form first then met their beasts. They had become acquainted to her tiger, and she needed to do the same with their animals. Once she was satisfied, she shifted to her large blue-grey wolf that had black tipped ears, tail and paws so they could meet her as well. It was very ceremonial, but needed. The animals called to each other, they needed to call to their human forms as well.

  By the time they returned to their home, Micah was tired and ready to fall asleep. But first she needed a shower. It was when she walked into the building that she was instantly smacked with an aroused females scent. Her beasts reacted before she could think and she did the unthinkable.

  She blew her cover.

  She went into attack mode fading into nothing, becoming the environment. She vaguely heard Shane say, “Shit, Sheila,” and Jessiah say, “She’s dead,” as she scaled the wall like a chameleon, her code name. It wasn’t a slow crawl either. She was a bullet, quickly careening toward her target in silence.

  When she got to Shane’s room Micah paused to get a look at the female encroaching on her territory. She was laying on his bed, naked with her hand massaging her clit. Micah circled her, stalked her. She was using her telekinesis to hover in the air. She got within a hairsbreadth and inhaled silently. But her response to the female was anything but. Both beasts roared simultaneously and the female shrieked and jumped looking around for the source.

  Now that Micah got taste of her fear, she wanted to play. The bed began shaking just as Shane and Jessiah made it into the room.

  “Fuck, Sheila,” Shane yelled. “I told you it was over, I found my Mate.”

  The lights flickered and scared out of her mind, Sheila jumped off the bed and into Shane’s arms.

  Mistake!

  Before anyone could think, another duet of roars sounded and she was yanked back by her hair by some invisible force flying through the air and hitting the wall on the other side.

  “Micah!” Jessiah yelled. But Micah wasn’t done playing and neither were her beasts.

  “Ours,” they took over Micah’s voice. “She-wolf in Mates home.”

  Sheila was crying now, the scent of fear was palpable.

  “Micah, stop,” Shane said.

  “Mate protects female,” her beasts said and the ground began shuddering.

  Shit. That was the wrong move, Shane thought.

  “Mates must see,” they said. And suddenly Shane’s and Jessiah’s minds were bombarded with images and their hearts with pain as they witnessed, no lived the moment that Micah’s world crumbled for the third time in her life. They felt her uncertainty, and her trepidation. They saw the moment she walked in on C
al climaxing in the bed they had shared for nearly two decades, with a blond that was similar enough in appearance to Sheila, that they could understand why Micah lost it. They felt the reversal of her Mate Mark and the drop of her heart as she left everything she knew for nineteen years behind. They felt her throat constrict and the warmth of her tears burn her eyes and roll down her face. And lastly they felt it when she reverted back into the eight-year-old girl that was abandoned and left to fend for herself when she asked one simple question--why?

  Their hearts broke for her. They shed tears for her. And were propelled into a fiercely protective mode.

  “No, love. I only want you, Micah.” The grounds grumbling lessened as Micah and her beasts listened for truth in Shane’s voice. Micah moved and scented the air directly next to Shane and he heard her inhale in his right ear. If he didn’t know it was Micah, he would freaked-the-fuck-out. It was that creepy. “Micah, love, I didn’t know she would be here. The instant I scented you, the moment I laid eyes on you, you are all I’ve thought about. I told Sheila that just after she touched my chest,” the ground stopped shaking. He continued. “I tried to go to you, but I was stuck to my spot. I couldn’t move for a few minutes,” Sheila who had been kept in midair was dropped to the ground. Micah knew it had been her that kept him stuck to that spot. “I ran after you the instant I could move, but you were gone.”

  It was silent for many heartbeats except for the sobs of Sheila.

  “Please Micah. I will never hurt you like he did.” Nothing. “Micah, please,” he pleaded. “I want to see you. I need to see you.”

  A new sob sounded in the room, it didn’t come from Sheila. Micah slowly came into view. She was balled up in a corner crying with her knees up and her head bent over them, her arms wrapped around herself.

  Shane rushed to her and lifted her onto his lap. “Get her out of here, Jess. Scrub her. And for Christ's sakes, don’t ever come back, Sheila.”
