  Jo smiled when she woke up, her head pounded, and she felt like shit, but she was in a good mood. She finally got one on her best friend. Cami had always been the leader of their group, the one with the crazy ideas. Jo got her friend good though. This morning she was sure that she’d be paying the price.

  This was the first time in weeks; she had been able to smile without forcing it. Tey had become so worried about her that he never left her alone. Last night was the first time in a long time that she had been actually been able to have a good time.

  Her father had sacrificed himself, just so he could redeem himself. She felt guilty that it had been her kidnapping as a child who had actually pushed him to let Braden become more powerful that he should have been. When Jo discovered what she was and who her father was, she had been happy. At least, the assholes that raised her were not actually blood related. For that, she was grateful.

  Jo smiled and then opened her eyes, "Hey."

  Jo kept forgetting that they didn’t live in the same house anymore. She had become accustom to having all the Chosen and Council in the same building. Although it had been hard, they had made it work, and she was missing the camaraderie that they had going on.

  Tey and Jo lived closest
to the Pack house. Their home was everything she had ever dreamed of growing up. When she and Cami were young, they would plan to live together and make a home for themselves, including the white picket fence and all that.

  Her reality was so much better. Tey designed a house right from her dreams. It was a timeless Victorian with round window seats and balconies. They’d painted it in the typical Victorian manner using six colors to highlight all the architectural details.
